DreamShare Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 3, 2026. DreamShare is a local-first dream journaling and dream interpretation app. This page explains what information the app stores, how the app uses that information, and what users can control.

Local-first by default

User-created dream content is designed to stay on the device unless a future release clearly introduces remote features.

User-triggered sharing

DreamShare does not automatically publish dreams. Social sharing and PDF export happen only when the user chooses them.

Reflective AI-style content

Dream Bot readings are reflective and entertainment-focused. They are not professional medical, legal, financial, or crisis advice.

1. Information users create in the app

DreamShare allows users to create and store content such as:

  • dream journal entries
  • sleep tracking entries
  • Dream Bot analysis history
  • profile and app preferences such as chosen language or notification settings

2. How the app uses data

DreamShare uses local app data to:

  • show saved dreams and interpretation details
  • support Dream Bot analysis and reflective interpretation flows
  • generate social sharing visuals requested by the user
  • export Dream Bot responses as PDF files requested by the user
  • schedule reminder notifications if the user enables them

3. Sharing

DreamShare does not automatically publish or transmit dream content to other users.

Content is only shared when the user explicitly takes an action such as:

  • saving an image to the device gallery
  • opening the Android share sheet
  • saving a Dream Bot PDF to the downloads folder

4. Notifications and permissions

DreamShare may request notification permission when reminder features are enabled.

The app may also use exact alarm scheduling and boot reschedule behavior so reminders continue to work as expected on supported Android versions.

5. Third-party services

The current checked-in project may rely on platform-level Android or Google services needed for app functionality, such as sign-in related platform APIs.

If a future release adds remote analytics, advertising, subscriptions, cloud sync, or hosted AI services, this policy must be updated before that release is published.

6. Retention and deletion

Because DreamShare is designed as a local-first app, user-created content is primarily retained on the device.

Users can delete entries inside the app, clear app storage, or uninstall the app to remove locally stored data.

7. Children

DreamShare is not intended to collect personal information from children. If the app audience, account systems, or regulated features change, this policy should be reviewed again before release.
